Do It Anyway

This powerful message centers on the transformative word 'nevertheless' found in the story of David conquering the stronghold of Jebus. We encounter a situation where the enemy was so confident in their defenses that they mocked David, claiming even the blind and lame could defend against him. Yet Scripture records that 'nevertheless, David took the stronghold.' This simple phrase carries profound weight for our spiritual lives today. How often does our adversary tell us we cannot overcome, that we're disqualified by our past, that victory is impossible? The enemy keeps detailed records of our failures and plays them on repeat in our minds. But here's the truth: if the devil is speaking to us at all, it's because he's afraid of what we might accomplish. His very words of discouragement are proof that we CAN do what he says we cannot. We're challenged to become 'nevertheless Christians'—people who hear the opposition but choose to do it anyway. The message is punctuated with testimonies of faithfulness rewarded after decades of waiting: one man who prayed for the Holy Ghost for 50 years before receiving it, another whose spouse faithfully packed baptismal clothes in the car trunk for 40 years before her husband finally asked to attend church. These aren't just inspiring stories; they're evidence that God is a promise-keeping, covenant-keeping God who meets us even when all we can offer is a sigh. The call is clear: stop listening to the enemy's intimidation and rise up with the boldness that comes from knowing the unconquered One lives within us.
