Never has there been a greater need for good men than in our world today. The Christian man lives every day of his life behind enemy lines. Our world is hostile territory: hostile to our values, hostile to our beliefs, and hostile to the principles we live by. The way forward involves setting our sights on recovering biblical manhood. When we consider the characteristics of strong men in the Bible, we see a different pattern emerge. Good men of the Bible didn't start out as superheroes. Many of them were not especially strong or extraordinarily gifted. Most of the men who became heroes of the faith started their journey as ordinary men. But as they came to the end of the road, their steady faithfulness brought them eternal rewards. And what was true for them will be true for us today.
