Building A Fence

Jul 26, 2026    Pastor Kevin Allen

What if the boundaries God places in our lives are not restrictions meant to limit us, but fences built by a loving Father to protect what He values most? That is the central question at the heart of this powerful exploration of Psalm 19. Drawing from David's sweeping journey through creation and scripture, we are invited to see God's commandments in a completely different light. David begins by gazing at the heavens, recognizing that the same God who spoke galaxies into existence and measures the universe with the span of His hand is the same God who speaks into our daily lives. The same voice that governs the stars governs the Word He gave us to live by. The message is clear: God's instructions are described not by what they prohibit, but by what they produce. They are perfect, trustworthy, right, pure, and true. They revive the soul, bring joy to the heart, and give insight for living. When we understand that the God who created everything also designed us, we begin to realize that His commands are not opinions or suggestions. They are the manufacturer's instructions for the life He crafted. Just as a fish flourishes in water and a train runs best on its tracks, we flourish when we live within the design God intended for us. This message challenges us to stop looking at the fence and start trusting the One who built it.
