When Jesus Comes to You

Jun 28, 2026    Pastor Kevin Allen

This powerful message centers on a profound truth: Jesus is constantly passing by our lives, but we must choose to respond. Drawing from multiple Gospel accounts—the disciples in the storm, the woman at the well, blind Bartimaeus, and the woman with the issue of blood—we discover that divine encounters don't always happen on our schedule. Sometimes the greatest moments aren't the ones we plan, but the ones when God interrupts our plans. The sermon challenges us to recognize that proximity to Jesus doesn't equal transformation. We can sit in church, feel His presence, sing the songs, and still miss our moment if we don't actively reach out in faith. The contrast between the disciples who responded and Judas who betrayed reveals a sobering reality: being around Jesus doesn't automatically mean we belong to Him. There must be surrender, desperation, and action. When Jesus comes near—whether in our storms, our emptiness, or our brokenness—He's looking for us to cry out, to push through the crowd, to refuse to be silenced by opposition. The question isn't whether Jesus is present, but whether we're desperate enough to engage with Him when He passes by.
